HOW WE MET: "Tim was the head golf professional at Terradyne Country Club & Resort in Andover, Kansas. I had just moved back to Kansas from Savannah, Georgia and needed a job ASAP. My Aunt Dawn worked at Terradyne and got me hired as a front desk clerk. My first memory of Tim was when he asked me if I wanted something for dinner since I was stuck at work. I said, "sure, I'll take a cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard only."
"Ketchup and mustard only?" he said. So he brought me a bun with ketchup and mustard only - no cheese and no burger. At first, I thought Dairy Queen had made a mistake. Feeling sorry for this sweet guy who went out of his way to get my dinner, I decided to eat it anyway. Then when he peeked his head around the corner and handed me my real cheeseburger I realized he was teasing me! Our first date was about a month later. We went to a Wichita Thunder hockey game." Our engagement was announced on June 6, 1999. HOW WE GOT ENGAGED: "We went to San Antonio for a weekend vacation. Tim told me if I rode The Rattler (a roller coaster) he would give me a surprise. I was scared to death to ride, but I wanted to know what this surprise was he had been promising to give me for over 2 months. At the very top of the first hill, as I was almost in tears from fear, he proposed. Then the roller coaster went down the hill and I started screaming. I couldn't tell him yes until we got off the roller coaster. And the ride was really fun after all."
Our wedding date is tentatively set for June 3, 2000.
